| SLYPA CAMPAIGN FOR HAITIAN RELIEF For Immediate Release (Download PDF) January 19, 2010 The devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti takes many of us back to the 2004 tsunami that crashed the shores of Sri Lanka. SLYPA extends our deepest sympathies and pledges our support for the victims of this terrible disaster. After the tsunami, the world came together to provide support for the people of Sri Lanka. Now it is time for us to give back. SLYPA™ is officially launching the SLYPA Campaign for Haitian Relief to raise $10,000 to support Partners in Health, which is emerging as one of the most reputable and effective organizations in the region. Please make your donations to Partners In Health via the microsite we have set up for the SLYPA campaign: www.firstgiving.com/slypaforhaiti To kickoff the campaign, the SLYPA Board of Directors has made a donation to the campaign. Currently, our members around the country are organizing fundraising events to help in this effort. If we all pull together, we can reach and even surpass this fundraising goal and show strong support from our community to the people of Haiti. We encourage you to join our campaign and make your donation today. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Nishan Kottahachchi at nishan@slypa.com. We thank you for your support and deeply appreciate your efforts. SLYPA Board of Directors http://www.slypa.com |

After a great deal of time and work, on the first day of summer 2007, the SLYPA website went live. The website will be the focal point for all SLYPA related information including news updates on activities around the country, photos from different events, and general information about the organization.
Information on SLYPA will continue to be available on different social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Friendster, and the SLYPA YahooGroup listserves in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Washington DC will remain the primary means of communicating regarding events in those cities for the foreseeable future. Although you may be a member of SLYPA on one of these sites, we ask that you please fill out the SLYPA membership form on the website, since it will be the primary means of identifying members around the country.
We encourage you to visit the website periodically, as it will be continually revised and updated over time, adding new features and updating information.
Special thanks to Chanaka Perera, who graciously donated his time and professional web design services in helping to create the SLYPA website.
